Finding the Right Jayco RV

Jayco Rv is on off the largest RV manufacturers in existence today.  They were founded in 1968 on a family farm in Middlebury, Indiana.  (Indiana is also the heart of the rv industry.  Elkhart county for instance is home to Forest river, Monaco, Fourwinds,  Hy-Line, Keystone, and many others.  It is the Detroit of RV manufacturing.)   Jayco travel trailer manufacturing facilities are located very close.

These manufactures are known for producing smaller RVs such as Jayco camping trailers Jayco travel trailers and fifthwheels.  They also produce nice toy haulers such as the recon, the octane, and the octane super light.  These Jayco toy haulers range in price from 18k to 58 k.  In addition to campers and trailers Jayco motorhomes they produce include models like Greyhawk, Embark and Insignia, and Free Spirit.  These range in Price from $80,000 to $250,000  They also have lights and feather lights available for a lot of their models.  This means they can be hauled by smaller trucks and not just 250s and 350s.

In addition to producing motorhomes, travel trailer and campers, Jayco RV also makes 3 models of Jayco pop ups.  The cheapest is called ‘Series’, the next ‘Jayco Baja’ and the 3rd ‘Select’.  All of these models come in several different floor plans and seem to be exceptionally great values. They range in price from 7 to 18 thousand dollars.  The Jayco series rv sleeps 5-7 and has a large kitchen area.  The Jayco Baja RV can also haul bikle or an ATV.  In this way, it is kind of like a small toy hauler.  The ‘Jayco series’ has the most room and the most storage area.  Fortunately, it is also still affordable to most people.

Jayco lite weight trailers include Jay feather series.  These have 4 different models.  The Jay Feather, the J-F Sport, the J-F Export and the J-F EXP.  They lightwiegt Jayco trailers trailer range in price from $14,000 to just over $20,000.

Fifth wheels include the Designer, the Eagle and the Eagle super light.  Jayco rv dealers sell these models between 30,000 and $55,000.

Jayco RVs are known for their light weight dependability.  Jayco is a reputable company that has been in business for many years, both in up markets and down markets.  As far as RV RVs go, they have their regular models, their light models and their ultra lights.  Their company is particularly good at providing quality at an affordable price.  Many people buy Jayco RVs because they are possible to tow even with a small truck or SUV.

The J symbol stands for light weight and speed.  This reinforces their commitment to ‘feather light RVs.  In addition to being light, many models are also very affordable.  For this reason many first time RV buyer buy a Jayco trailer.

There can be a great difference in price among various Jayco RVs.  Typically you will get a better deal when you buy your trailer used.  The best deals are usually available through private party sellers or through RV Auctions.   When buying from a private party you generally want a Jayco trailer that is less then 5 years old.  This way it should still be in reliable condition and work for a few more years without any major problems.  RVs that are 2 years old sell for 30-35% less then they do new.  RVs that are 3-5 years new should sell for 50% or less then they do new.  A great way to find out the values in the west is to use the NADA guide, in the east, you generally use the Kelley blue book.

When buying a used Jayco RV, local newspaper classified or craigslist is a great place to start.  You may also want to check your neighborhood or see if any of the other RVs in storage have for sale signs on them.  Another great place to look for Jayco RVs is in the out dated classifieds.  This can be a great way for you to find a great deal with no competition from other buyers.  This can allow you to have more buyer’s leverage and to negotiate quite a good deal.
